Recently, Queen Anne senior basketball team played Arbroath in a dramatic match. The victors were to head straight to the semi finals to play a tough game at the Peak in Stirling against Gryfe. Queen Anne have met Arbroath in the last two Scottish cups, falling just short on both occasions were looking for revenge. Aided by the fact that Arbroath’s best player had sustained an ankle injury earlier on that week, Queen Anne’s chances of success had marginally increased. During the Easter holidays, a group of Queen Anne pupils travelled to the Dolomite mountain range in north eastern Italy. Widely regarded as a Mecca for all aspiring Skiers, the World Heritage site formed the basis around the groups trip, as they hoped to challenge themselves in a somewhat unfamiliar environment.
After a 30 hour journey, the group arrived in the small comune, or town, of Cavalese, where they would be staying for the duration of the trip.

At the end of the English corridor, outside in the courtyard, you will find an oyster-catcher nesting on the gravel. It has a partner, which is often away, so you will mainly only find the one. Several photos of the bird were taken, but these are our favourites. As you can see, we got a fleeting glimpse of the egg that the oyster-catcher has been hiding!
