Before the recent winter holidays, we interviewed Mr Turk who departed from QAHS at the end on the last term. The following are his responses to our questions:
Will you miss being at QAHS?
Yes, very much so
What will you miss most?
The pupils, staff and also the higher classes
What will you miss least?
Admin work, writing reports and the more annoying pupils
What are your favourite memories?
(Aside from the ones on facebook) lessons that worked well, having inspirational moments in classes and the school trips
Did you always want to be an RMPS teacher?
Most people were surprised I became one – I was a rogue in school
What will you do now?
Get my life in order, get fit, clean out my garage and travel somewhere where there is sun
Will you come back to visit?
Definitely – it’s in my blood! Also, I will hopefully be back for football
If there was one thing you could say to convince us all to be RMPS teachers, what would it be?
Well, some of the pupils I taught have become RMPS teachers so it’s an influential job. Also, I’d advise never to turn down the chance of helping pupils to question life
Finally is there anything else you’d like to add?
Back when there were huts I felt like the new boy in school and I still feel that way – I can’t believe I’m leaving
So hopefully Mr Turk will enjoy his time outside of QAHS, and he knows that all the students wish him the very best and that he was a delightful teacher to have within our school.
