Today is the next book in the mortal instruments series, and this one is my personal favourite so this is on ‘City of Fallen Angels’ without further a due, enjoy.
Sixteen-year-old Simon Lewis is having a difficult time adjusting to his new life as a vampire, especially since it became known that he’s a “Daylighter,” able to be out during the day without fear of being killed by sunlight. And a lot of people try to kill him, but the “Mark of Cain” that his best friend, Clary, gave him means that anyone who tries to kill him will have a horrible (but quite pretty) death. His daylight status and Clary’s mark make Simon a wanted person by many in the supernatural world. Camille, a female vampire (she is very old) who until recently led the Manhattan vampire clan, wants Simon to help her return to power. She offers him knowledge and power in return and gives him five days to make up his mind.
DON’T WORRY it may seem like it but this book isn’t all about Simon some stuff DOES happen to the others, for example, Jace is madly in love with Clary, and she is in love with him. But Jace has been plagued for weeks by nightmares in which, during passionate moments with Clary, he kills her. He keeps his nightmares to himself, but he can’t eat or sleep. Clary begins to worry that Jace doesn’t love her.
Simon’s band brings in a new lead singer named Kyle. ( he gets important) and lots more including…
And most of all…
Gay Holiday time with Alec the Shadowhunter and Magnus the freewheeling bisexual/warlock
This book is my personal favourite in the series because of the central focuses on Simon but if you like the other they do show up… sometimes. Focusing a lot less on the Clary Jace struggle and taking a step back to see the blooming Clace relationship through the eyes of the third wheeler, Simon.
