On Friday the 6th May Queen Anne High School S1 held a challenge day. The challenges include team building exercises and problem solving. In social subjects (Mrs. MacDougall) they are learning about the American Explorer Christopher Columbus and how he found America and where he found it. When we dropped in, in the afternoon they were imagining if they were on a ship during a big storm and they were also doing a big map of America and they were told to think about these questions: How would you be feeling? What have you discovered? And what were the conditions on the ship? They were also writing to the queen of Spain. In another classroom (RME Miss Fotheringham) they are doing team building exercises getting to know each other better but later on will be going into the glen and visiting Andrew Carnegie’s birthplace museum. After lunch the “I <3 Humans” group visited the Andrew Carnegie birthplace museum and were learning about what he did and his work. They also learned about what kind of charity work he did with his money.
