The 2016 Queen Anne High School Archery practice began with all the participants putting on their armguards and being briefed about safety procedures. Mr Hannah was the instructor and Miss Hay was assisting any pupils that needed help with firing the bow. The pupils then went straight into firing their arrows at the target but occasionally they went down into the grass! Although some people required more practice and couldn’t quite master the activity, everyone at least tried their best. You could notice they were enjoying themselves immensely and due to the fact is was purely a practice they got to fire as many arrows as they wanted. In total there were four arrows that hit the bullseye but the majority went clear over the target but as long as everyone was appreciating the activity and enjoying the experience, it was all worth it!
A quote from one of the pupils, “I think I will do badly under the amount of pressure.”
Keziah Chalmers, a pupil in the S1 Archery Team, says that on a scale of 1-10 the pressure level is only 3, she also says it is a Fun Experience.
“Personally, I think that it was an amazing experience for all pupils involved in the cluster Olympics this year.”
